Saladworks, the country’s largest fresh tossed salad franchise, has signed an agreement with a developer for eight restaurant locations in Orange County. Mission Viejo is one of four special target cities for the company. The other three are Irvine, Anaheim, and Costa Mesa.
Saladworks was founded in Southern New Jersey in 1986 offering fresh, made-to-order, entrée-sized salads and signature soups for customers on the go.
“Even in this economy, Saladworks has proven that it is a sellable concept,” said franchise broker Tim Easton. “I wanted to bring something new and exciting that people would talk about.”
Saladworks operates over 100 franchises, mostly on the East Coast, and has another 60 restaurants in development. It offers a variety of salads with 500 calories or less. Saladworks was voted the nation’s number one salad franchise by Entrepreneur Magazine for 2009 and 2010.
