Saladworks offers a fresh menu of signature salads (averaged less than 300 calories), proprietary soups, Focaccia Fusion sandwiches, and wraps. All of Saladworks' produce is chopped, sliced, and grated on-location every day.
Uptake: Saladworks recently signed an 8-store deal in Orange County, CA and a 3-store deal in Knox County, TN. The company has been ranked the #1 salad franchise 2 years running by Entrepreneur Magazine.
Our Take: "Salad for lunch? Right on!"
This isn’t your typical “salad bar,” thank goodness. And although the concept has been tried by others on a local basis with mixed results (remember Zuba's?), we are betting these guys have figured out how to do it right. They started in a mall food court and now have 100 franchise units. With people on the go and their doctors telling them to eat more fruits and vegetables, Saladworks is the right restaurant franchise concept at the right time.
